Boron is an essential mineral found in borax which is made up of naturally occurring elements of boron, sodium, and oxygen, known as Sodium Borate or Sodium Tetraborate. Boron has antiviral, antimicrobial, antibiotic, and antiparasitic properties.
Boron is successful in addressing chronic illnesses, such as autoimmune diseases, hormone imbalances, and chronic pain. Boron helps prevent loss of calcium, magnesium, and phosphorus through the urine. It assists in healing arthritis, gout, and osteoporosis, by healing and strengthening bone. Boron is an anti-inflammatory agent that effectively treats inflammatory diseases like cancer, Lyme disease, and Hashimoto's, as well as swollen gums, nerve pain and neuropathy. Boron assists in removing parasites, yeast and mold from the body, effectively treating SIBO, candida overgrowth, and bladder and urinary tract infections. It removes fluoride from the body, increasing IQ.
Fluoride, a neurotoxin, chelates (removes) boron from the body, just as it does the earth. When fluoride was added to the water and food supply, a consistent intake and build-up of this dangerous neurotoxin began, which lead to the gradual removal of boron from the body. When the body attempts to use this toxic fluoride instead of essential boron, dis-ease symptoms begin and worsen over time.
Symptoms/signs of boron deficiency/fluoride toxicity:
Arthritis, osteoporosis, rheumatoid arthritis, weak/brittle bones, tendon/cartilage issues, nerve pain, neuropathy, anxiety, irritability, anger, low IQ, mold exposure, mold toxicity, candida overgrowth, SIBO, UTI's, yeast infections, bladder infections, acne, hormonal imbalances, low testosterone, and magnesium wasting. The longer this deficiency/toxicity continues (typically paired with other mineral-deficiencies), the greater likelihood for cancer, Lyme disease, Hashimoto's and other auto-immunities to develop.
Just as fluoride chelates boron, boron chelates fluoride. Either process depends on which has the higher levels in the body. If fluoride is higher than boron, boron gets the boot. If boron is higher than fluoride, fluoride is removed. In our modern world, we have a steady supplementation of fluoride via water, food, pharmaceuticals, toothpaste, chicken (chicken feed), dental procedures and more. How many of us supplement boron?
Although boron was once considered a trace mineral, severe boron deficiency has left the body in desperate need for daily, larger amounts to catch up and regain boron status to remove fluoride buildup from the bones and nerves, while also keeping up with ongoing removal from inevitable daily intake. This state of deficiency took years to reach, therefore boron replenishment is no different; it is simply the reversal of the dis-ease that occurred without boron. It takes time for the body to swap out fluoride for boron, calcium, phosphorus and other collagen co-factors required for the bone matrix and nerve health.
As boron is re-introduced to the body, a variety of detox effects can occur, especially if supplementation increases too quickly or too many other detoxes are happening at the same time. This can overwhelm the body causing many of the same symptoms or flare in symptoms as the deficiency itself. Symptoms can worsen before improving if you increase boron too quickly. Depending on the person's health status, this could be unavoidable. Trusting the process and going low and slow are always best practice unless you have the time and schedule to experiment on yourself and push through any detox flares to reach healing faster. This is always the individual's choice.
The detox of fluoride occurs via the kidney/bladder/urine waste pathway. Another sign of detoxing fluoride too quickly is kidney/lower back pain, from the kidneys filling up too quickly with fluoride for removal (yes, boron is that efficient in fluoride removal!) In the event this happens during boron replenishment, a kidney flush is in order.
Kidney flush: 1/8 tsp aluminum-free sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) mixed into a full glass of distilled water. Drink quickly. Can repeat if necessarily but do not exceed 1 tsp of sodium bicarbonate per 24-hour period. Typically, 1 or 2 doses do that trick.
If this or other symptom flares happen often, you may be increasing boron dosage too quickly. If nothing seems to be happening during boron supplementation, you may be able to increase more quickly.
Although everyone is different and will have different levels of alignments to "fix", a good first goal and maintenance goal is 55 mg of boron per day. Learn more about boron replenishment and dosage in the Stop the Sickness shop.
Chromium is an essential trace mineral once found in a wide variety of foods. With the de-mineralization of our food supply from ever-growing toxins, chromium is now another mineral deficiency leading to a state of dis-ease in many. Chromium has antioxidant properties. Chromium status is still individually based, unlike copper, ascorbic acid, and iodine, not everyone is necessarily deficient.
Chromium is critical for the maintenance of healthy glucose and carbohydrate metabolism and is also important for the utilization of fat and protein. Scientific studies also indicate that it may play a role in cardiovascular health. Chromium helps to maintain healthy blood sugar levels already within the normal range and may also help to support a healthy body composition. Chromium assists in balancing hormones by assisting in DHEA production, energy production, weight loss, lowering blood sugar, insulin processing, and supporting the heart.
Chromium deficiency symptoms include, fatigue, obesity, high blood sugar, insulin resistance, heart disease, neuropathy, PCOS, diabetes, binge eating, sugar cravings, and osteoporosis.
Colloidal Silver (CS) is a powerful antimicrobial, antibiotic, antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal natural solution that bolsters the immune system by increasing white blood cell count. CS should be at least 10 ppm (parts per million) to be an effective antimicrobial.
Germs do not develop a resistance to Colloidal Silver. CS can be used in situations when a full mineral protocol has not been incorporated or balanced yet, and quick help is needed. CS is especially effective for any and all topical applications such as skin rashes, acne, cuts, wounds, burns, tattoos, and infections. It can also be nebulized and has shown in studies to prevent man-made viruses from penetrating the body as well as drastically shortening the lifespan of a virus and decreasing the changes of developing scar tissue in the lungs. CS can be consumed straight, orally as well.
Many other minerals can do the same as CS but require replenishment and time to sort out many other aliments caused from deficiencies over time. Once on a balanced full-mineral protocol, silver is unnecessary but until that time, CS proves helpful for killing almost any invader in the moment. CS is the least painful for open wounds, although copper is most effective for stopping bleeding and closing wounds quickly.
Copper is a trace mineral essential for survival. Copper I is what we may first think of; a copper-colored metal used in plumbing pipes. Copper II is most commonly found in nature, is stable in aqueous solutions, and is a beautiful, teal/blue color. Copper, along with Potassium, are the top two most depleted minerals from our soil and two of most desperately needed minerals for proper body functioning. Copper is a powerful antimicrobial, antifungal, antiviral, antibiotic, antibacterial, antihistamine, antiparasitic and anti-inflammatory.
Copper is the ultimate detoxifier and hormone balancer. It improves circulation, bile flow, collagen
production, stops bleeding, and heals food allergies, leaky gut, and internal and external ulcers.
Copper, along with Manganese, are responsible for melanin production, a pigment that gives our hair and skin color. Without copper, the skins crucial relationship with the sun becomes toxic and skin begins to burn, blister, and grow cancer cells. Copper is essential for utilizing sunshine as the body was intended. Copper is also a collagen co-factor. With most people being copper deficient for years or more now, a lack of collagen production has been attributed to the aging process, ignoring the lack of copper and Vitamin C, both of which are needed to produce proper collagen formation. Copper helps stomach problems by increasing collagen and increasing hydration.
Copper is needed to help turn iron into blood cells in the bone marrow. Copper keeps iron balanced in the body. Without copper, iron becomes problematically destructive. Copper helps proper red blood cell formation for healthy blood clotting. Copper is needed to make the myelin sheath (that covers the nerves) that allows for faster nerve transmission and better reflexes, and copper also increases neurotransmitters. Copper cures seizures.
Copper is needed for adrenal support, hormones, and neurotransmitters, all of which boost energy. Copper reduces cholesterol, and converts it into good hormones like DHEA, a master hormone, and helps convert DHEA into other hormones, like good testosterone. Copper is needed (along with iodine) to make T4 and T3 hormones and to help convert T4 into T3. Copper also detoxes toxins that can cause iodine deficiency and thyroid problems.
Copper helps lower blood pressure, (as does magnesium and potassium). Copper also helps strengthen the heart muscle, gives it energy, and takes calcium out of the soft tissues like the arteries and puts it back into the bones. Copper improves cellular respiration of oxygen and helps make ATP for energy. Copper clears the lungs by helping make 5 major detoxing enzymes, such as super oxide dismutase. Copper lowers inflammation. Copper improves digestion.
Copper, whether used orally, topically, or rectally, binds and removes toxins from all parts of the body.
It takes a minimum of 10 mg of oral copper per day, for around 30 days, for the copper-based enzymatic processes in the body to activate and begin normal detox duties. When copper status is low, these copper-based detox pathways shut down and can no longer perform their cleaning duties, leaving the individual in a state of dis-ease as toxins build. Once copper status is regained, nerve healing and regeneration and proper detox begin, both of which can be uncomfortable processes. Humans have such extensive nerve damage these days, the nerve awakening process can lead to pains and discomfort initially, unfortunately, causing many to stop the remineralization process. Making it through this initial process is necessary for total body healing.
Together at appropriate ratios, copper, zinc and ascorbic acid, create a trifecta for a powerful antihistamine, eliminating histamine responses such as allergies, rash, hives, headaches, diarrhea, runny/stuffy nose, itching, shortness of breath, facial flushing, low blood pressure, irregular or fast heart rate, and nausea/vomiting. A 2-week period on copper, zinc, and ascorbic acid is commonly successful in stopping allergy and histamine responses. The antihistamine synergy between the three, offer an ideal starting point in the remineralization process prior to incorporating other necessary minerals that may otherwise cause said reaction.
Although there are many common causes for copper deficiency, glyphosate use is the most widespread. Glyphosate, a highly toxic herbicide/pesticide, chelates (removes) copper from the soil and the body, leaving a deficient state. Glyphosate, a known carcinogen, is heavily sprayed on mass crops such as wheat, corn, soy, rice, oats, almonds, grapes, and many other fruits, veggies, and nuts. This is a huge reason for the Dirty Dozen fruit and veggie list as well. Glyphosate is the main ingredient in round up and many other "weed killers", so the saturation of this toxin is spread far and wide penetrating and depleting minerals from the soil, killing off Monarch Butterflies, and destroying the health of plants, animals and humans alike. Most everyone who consumes the American Diet or who lives in America or anywhere else that uses glyphosate, is severely deficient in copper.
Other common causes of copper deficiency:
Prescription drugs, petroleum-based products, fluoride-based products, fungal based drugs, antibiotics, diuretics, pain killers, neurotransmitter reuptake blocking drugs (SSRI's, etc.),
excessive iron and iron-fortified foods, fluoride, bromide, lead, aluminum, mercury, other heavy metals, chemical toxins, supplemental Vitamin D use (not a vitamin but rather a secosteriod that suppresses the immune system), refined and excess sugar, excessive supplementation with Zinc, Vitamin C, or Niacinamide, excessive exercise, or hormone-based drugs such as cortisol, testosterone, and birth control.
Signs of copper deficiency include: The most common symptoms are bold.
Skin conditions (excessive sweating, cold sweats, sunburns, trouble tanning, excessive white hair or early greying, vitiligo, skin infections, excessive and "early" wrinkles, thin skin, rashes),
Connective tissue disorders from lack of collagen (heart murmur, hernia, hemorrhoids, joint pain/inflammation, tendon pain, back and neck pain, weak bones, bulging disks, worn out cartilage, ulcers),
Heart disease (heart attack, stroke, high blood pressure, aortic aneurysms, bleeding, internal clotting, poor blood circulation),
Lung/Respiratory Ailments (asthma, congestion, coughing, difficulty breathing, lung infections/pleurisy, nasal congestion)
Bone, marrow, and blood conditions (arthritis, osteoporosis, gout–an inflammatory form of arthritis, lupus (arthritis-like disease / inflammation), inflammation, easily broken bones, scoliosis, anemia, low red blood cell counts, anemia symptoms like fainting, tiredness, mental fog, numbness in fingers and toes, etc. bleeding disorders, excessive bruising (which is bleeding), low white blood cell count and increased infections.
Neutropenia (increased bacterial and fungal infections),
Brain and nerve damage (nerve-tingling, numbness in fingers or toes, brain fog, various mental disorders, seizures, Alzheimer’s, confusion, depression, anxiety, peripheral neuropathy, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s, Kawasaki Disease, and brain cerebral palsy).
In extreme copper deficiency, there is numbness in the nerves and loss of feeling in the hands and/or feet, lesions on the spinal cord, and people lose the ability to walk.
Hormone imbalances (low DHEA, low testosterone, weakness, difficulty building muscle, muscle pain, delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) from workouts, fibromyalgia pains, low libido, feeling tired all the time/lethargy, excessive napping, brain fog, chronic fatigue syndrome, high cholesterol, hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism),
Digestion issues (low stomach acid, GERD, undigested food in stool, constipation, diarrhea, SIBO, candida overgrowth, congested liver, dehydration- muscle cramping)
Diabetes, Kidney Disease, Celiac Disease, Lyme Disease, Hashimoto's, and Cancer.
Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth (FGDE) is a natural mineral made from fossilized diatoms, a type of algae organism found in vast oceans and waterways around the world. Although it consists of a variety of minerals in trace amounts such as, calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium, phosphorus, selenium, and others, it is almost entirely made of silica. Food Grade DE is a naturally occurring amorphous silicon dioxide whereas Non-Food Grade DE is crystalline silicon dioxide which is dangerous for the lungs if breathed in. FGDE is not dangerous to the lungs, which is a common misunderstanding. Silica’s importance in overall optimal bodily function has been recognized as early as 1878. DE/Silica is antiparasitic, anti-inflammatory, a natural binder and detoxifier, especially effective for removing aluminum from the body. It is a collagen co-factor, hormone balancer, immune system booster, water purifier and biofilm buster. Silica is what gives living organisms resilience. Diatomaceous Earth (DE) can be used internally, topically, as a natural insect repellent, a natural tick and flea protection for pets and the home and more.
DE/Silica is needed for healthy cartilage, joint function, strong bones, teeth and gums, GI tissues, and collagen production, which is what holds our entire bodies together. DE plays its part to decalcify and defluorinated the pineal gland by increasing bone density, with the help of a teammate, Boron, who removes fluoride from the bones, and another mineral teammate, Potassium, who then helps remove it from the body. Good bacteria are not bound by DE but rather handed far more territory than before to they can proliferate and multiply to be far more effective, increasing the body's ability to absorb more nutrients. DE is considered a biofilm buster because of its available to "dry out" organisms and their protective biofilms causing their death. It is typical to see parasites, busted biofilms, and more exiting the body when beginning DE supplementation.
DE destroys any and all forms of parasites living within the digestive system, as well as efficiently removing aluminum; because of its binding and cleaning effect, constipation can occur when first beginning. It is crucial to consume large amounts of distilled water while using DE, especially during the beginning detox phases to ensure proper clean out. Not enough water intake can lead to constipation, waste/toxin release and die-off build-up causing what is called a Jarisch-Herxheimers Reaction or herxing.
Herxing is essentially when the body is effectively mobilizing toxins and killing microbes and parasites but is unable to remove them from the body quickly enough. Once parasites and microbes die in the body, their exoskeletons emit greater levels of toxins than when they were alive, leaving the individual is a state of discomfort with symptoms flaring because of increased inflammation during recirculation of said toxins unable to exit. This can occur with any mineral detox but commonly with DE as it can cause dehydration without ample water intake during detox; however, DE improves and heals digestion with use over time, even constipation.
Since toxins chelate (remove) minerals and with DE comprised of minerals, primarily silica, toxins, especially aluminum remove silica and other minerals from the body, leaving a state of deficiency and dis-ease. It is when we begin re-incorporating Silica in the form of DE, that we begin reversing the chelation of silica to the chelation of aluminum and parasites.
Silica deficiency symptoms:
Joint/cartilage pain and weakness, weak/brittle bones, including teeth and gums, digestion Issues of all kinds, constipation, bloating, parasites, grey hair, hair loss, low/poor skin integrity, heavy metal toxicity, aluminum toxicity, specifically.
When first beginning DE supplementation, going low and slow is best practice as herxing is common. Starting with as little as 1/8 tsp per day is needed for some, whereas others may be able to begin with 1/4 tsp. Maintaining that beginning dose for 1-2 weeks before increasing is many times necessary to keep discomfort at bay. In the event you increase too quickly and experience a herxing reaction, simply lower your dose back down the following day and remain at that dose for another week before increasing again. A good maintenance goal for most is 1-2 Tablespoons per day.
FGDE can be taken in therapeutic doses (more than 2 Tablespoons) for more targeted goals, however it’s interactive balance with other minerals would need to be considered before implementing at high doses.
Iodine is an essential mineral, required by almost every cell in the body, however, the body does not make it and therefore Iodine must be ingested. With soil, foods, and seawater being stripped of these essential minerals from ever-growing toxins, our iodine intake has plummeted leaving most everyone in a state of deficiency. Iodine is antiparasitic, antibiotic, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiviral, and antioxidant.
There are many different forms of supplemental iodine available. Saturated Solution of Potassium Iodide or SSKI is the preferred form in Stop the Sickness' protocols as it provides the least detox reactions and easily converts back to iodine once in the body. The body needs both iodine and potassium iodide so utilizing SSKI as primary source of iodine is ideal for total body healing.
Potassium Iodide or KI, thins mucus in throat and chest, is essential for general wellbeing, immunity, thyroid health, brain fog, hormone imbalances and healthier hair, skin and nails. Iodine chelates (removes) heavy metals from the body but especially mercury. Iodine also removes toxic fluoride and bromide from the body, plays a big part in stomach acid production and proper digestion. KI also removes and protects the body from radioactive substances (radiation), such as the radioactive iodine dye (contrast) used in MRI scans. 3 drops (150 mg Iodide) of SSKI per day protects the DNA structure from radiation, which can be used daily or during high radiation exposure time such as during airplane travel, a nuclear fallout or western medicine testing techniques (x-rays, MRI's, Mammograms, etc.), which I discourage using unless a life-threatening event.
Iodine is also in the halogen group, highly reactive nonmetal elements on the periodic table which also include bromine, fluorine, and chlorine. Although all halides, bromide, fluoride, chloride, and Iodide have different characteristics and therefore react differently in the body. Humans have what I call an 'iodine tank" that is supposed to be filled with, you guessed it, iodine, an essential halogen for the human body. In our modern world, where toxins abound, chelating (removing) our iodine, the iodine tank empties and then refills with whatever halogens are available, which are, unfortunately, the toxic halides that mimic iodine and create harm and dis-ease such as bromide, fluoride, and chlorine. As these toxic halides and mercury chelate (remove) iodine, the body attempts to use these neurotoxins in place of its precious iodine and dis-ease begins. Hidden dental infections can be common with these toxicities as fluoride is a neurotoxin that numbs nerves to the teeth by entering wholes and cavities without the person feeling anything. Once the fluoride is removed from the mouth, hidden cavities are exposed, leaving many to mistakenly believe fluoride was helping rather than hurting. With Hashimoto's in particular, dental infections are common, especially if mercury-filled amalgams are present as well as fluoride. Each of these take-over toxins play a part in chelating iodine from the body. Decreased iodine status may result in an insufficient production of thyroxine, thus negatively impacting thyroid function and therefore hormonal balance. This is a very common generational deficiency/toxicity, thus leading to younger and younger diagnoses of hypothyroidism, thyroid cancer, Hashimoto's and more.
Iodine has connections to over 60 disease and ailments including thyroid and metabolic disorders because iodine is crucial for whole body functioning. Approximately 80% of the dietary intake of iodine is sequestered by the thyroid gland. However, other tissues concentrate iodine as well, including salivary glands, the gastric mucosa, choroids plexus, the lactating mammary gland, the ovaries. breasts, prostate, kidneys, lungs, cervix, blood, lymph system, bones, and adrenal glands. If the thyroid gland has already been destroyed and removed, the body will work to achieve iodine saturation more-so in the variety of other areas listed.
When first beginning to replenish Iodine/Potassium Iodide, it's co-factors must first be onboard to facilitate effective detox: Selenium/Ascorbic acid/Magnesium/potassium/B2/B3
Never put iodine drops directly into your mouth.
Magnesium is needed for over 700 enzyme processes in the body.
Magnesium is especially important for proper calcium metabolism and mobilizing abnormal calcium deposits. If you experience muscle cramping, tension or pain, tremors, restless legs, low energy, trouble sleeping, stress and anxiety, headaches, hypersensitivity to calcium, or hyperexcitability you could need more magnesium.
The body will use more magnesium during detox. Boron assists the body in retaining magnesium so stop magnesium wasting. There are many forms of magnesium but 4 of the most commonly used forms are Glycinate, Malate, Threonate, and Sulfate (Epsom salt). Glycinate is a highly bioavailable magnesium chelate, which supports the metabolism and utilization of carbohydrates, amino acids, and fats for energy. It also helps activate enzymes to regulate functions critical for energy production and metabolism, muscle contraction, nerve impulse transmission, and bone mineralization. Malate, another highly absorbable form, supports optimal muscle, tissue, bone and tooth health, and promotes healthy macronutrient metabolism.
L-Threonate, another highly absorbable form of magnesium, crosses the blood-brain barrier to support memory and cognitive health, helps maintain crucial synaptic connections between brain cells, and promotes healthy brain cell signaling pathways.
Lastly, Magnesium Sulphate is used for detox and recover soaks and the occasional liver cleanse. Glycinate is best in the afternoon and evening, Malate any time, and Threonate is best in the AM or afternoon.
Manganese is an essential trace mineral involved in many key body functions, including supporting a healthy metabolism, and bone and brain health.
Manganese activates numerous enzymes necessary for the utilization of biotin, thiamine, and ascorbic acid. It is a catalyst in the synthesis of fatty acids and cholesterol, and it plays a part in protein, carbohydrate, and fat production. Manganese is necessary for normal skeletal development and maintenance of connective structural tissue and cellular integrity.
Manganese is a SOD production co-factor, supports bone health, and lessens PMS. In addition, it influences the synthesis of mucopolysaccharides and is a necessary cofactor in the detoxification of ammonia to urea.
Manganese and copper together, produces melanin, the pigment that colors our hair and skin. It also increases brain function and helps regrow hair.
Signs you need more Manganese: hair loss, brittle hair, slow/no hair growth, dandruff and psoriasis. Manganese is a co-factor in keratin and collagen production.
25 mg/day for 2 weeks will assist in hair loss prevention.
Molybdenum is an essential trace mineral. In the human body, molybdenum is found in the bones, liver, and kidneys.
Molybdenum plays a role in a number of important bio-chemical processes, like waste processing in the kidneys, development of the nervous system, and the activation of enzymes that are involved in breaking down food to produce energy. Molybdenum may also help support normal metabolism of fats and carbohydrates.
It is necessary for maintaining normal iron levels and utilization in the body due to its involvement in the enzymatic process that mobilizes iron from the liver reserves.
Molybdenum can assist with nausea, processing alcohol, and sulfur processing (MSM, copper sulfate, sulforaphane, etc.). If you are unable to tolerate cysteine, glutathione, NAC or react to wine or other sulfite-rich foods, increase molybdenum first, then slowly re-incorporate. You can also take as needed during these situations.
Signs you need more are: racing heart, breathing issues, flushing or reddening of the face, headaches, or cold hands and feet. Can do as much as 2000 mg/day, if needed.
Potassium hydrates the cells internally rather than sodium holding moisture and toxins on the outside
of the cells, causing cellulite, high blood pressure, and heavy breathing. This detox can cause dehydration feelings initially because the body is seemingly craving salt and shedding the toxic moisture from outside the cells. Once you make it through the salt cravings, it is easy from there as the potassium will actually taste like sodium to you because it is hydrating the cells from the inside, without the toxins.
You will want to replace any sodium chloride (table salt, Himalayan salt, etc.) to Celtic salt, which is
higher in potassium than sodium, naturally. The goal here is to ensure higher potassium intake than sodium intake every day, so the sodium stops storing toxins in fat.
You will acclimate to the taste and begin to feel more hydrated over time. Sodium is needed and is still an important electrolyte; we simply intake so much sodium through our diets that supplementation is very rarely needed.
Most everyone has more sodium than potassium in their bodies until "the switch" happening with consistent potassium intake.
Signs you need more Potassium: cramping, bloating, edema, becoming out of breath easily, eating out at restaurants often, craving salt, and if you are supplementing with iodine. In the event you feel out of breath with racing heart during physical activity, it is a sign that sodium is higher than potassium that day. Extra potassium will solve this. Potassium is a co-factor to iodine, sodium, and magnesium.
The base goal is 1.5 tsps. per day. When eating out, having overly salty foods, etc., additional intake is likely needed. Never capsulize potassium chloride over 99 mg. This can cause hot spots on the stomach, which can lead to ulcers.
Selenium is a natural antioxidant that delays the oxidation of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAS) and preserves the elasticity of tissue. Selenium is required for the production of certain prostaglandins, which promote healthy blood flow. Selenium works with copper, AA, zinc, & magnesium to detox toxins, especially mercury.
Selenium helps your body fight a key factor that contributes to aging: oxidative damage. Selenium is a co-factor to iodine and copper and must be taken when supplementing iodine to maintain proper thyroid balance. In synergy with vitamin E, selenium promotes healthy growth and fertility, and improves the function of certain energy producing cells.
Signs of selenium deficiency: Hair loss or changes to hair quality and texture, as well as nails, thyroid dysfunction, hormonal imbalance, weakened immune system, fatigue, muscle pain.
Selenium is a co-factor to iodine and Vit E (Tocotrienols).
Vanadium is a trace mineral that provides nutritional support for maintaining a healthy glucose metabolism and makes cells more responsive to insulin through vigorous activation of the insulin receptors.
Vanadium, along with Chromium support healthy blood sugar metabolism.
Zinc is an essential mineral that is involved in many aspects of cellular metabolism.
Zinc is a key cofactor in hundreds of enzymatic reactions and plays a critical role in protein synthesis, the maintenance of cellular structures, and the cell signaling. Although dietary bioavailability of zinc is relatively poor, Zinc Glycinate has been shown to achieve superior absorption and bioavailability.
Signs you need more zinc are drippy nose, allergies, sneezing, low libido, skin rashes, dry skin, bloating, vision loss/blurriness, sleep disturbances, restless legs/body restlessness in evening/bedtime or when lying down. If you experience these signs, increase your zinc intake by
15-20 mg at a time until symptoms subside.
Zinc is best taken in one dose with dinner, with the exception of needing to increase in the moment. An out-of-balance copper: zinc ratio can cause blocking of one or the other. A good maintenance ratio of copper: zinc is 1:2 -1:3 but as high as 1:9-1:15 can be needed in the beginning of re-mineralization, depending on the individual. This usually lowers as healing happens.
Zinc is a co-factor to copper and Vit C.
