Any amount of detoxing you can do will be very helpful for healing. Initial detox symptoms (Herxhemiers Reaction, aka Herxing) can last anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months, depending on level of toxicity and current toxin flow into the body (ex. Living in mold, continually consuming fluoride or “bad” foods, getting tattoos, etc.)

Epsom Salt Soaks

2 cups of Magnesium Sulfate in regular sized tub with *hot (preferably filtered) water. 3 cups if you have a large soaker tub. 

Soak for a minimum of 40 minutes, up to 1 hour. 


You can order bulk epsom salt on Amazon, Brand: Epsoak or Walmart has 8 lb bags for $6.


Adding 1/2 tsp of pure ascorbic acid powder to each bath will help neutralize chlorine and other impurities in the water as well as keeping skin issues at bay during detox. Add in any additional

items according to your personal healing plan.


If using essential oils, place your drops onto the last scoop of Epsom salts and allow to soak in

before adding to soak.


If using baking soda, beginning low and slow as this can cause an intense detox. Begin with a 1/8

cup and slowly increase to a full cup, if desired.


Other additives can be: ginger, copper sulfate solution, boron, and more. As with most additives,

start low and slow and increase until you find what works for you. *You want the water to be

decently hot so you can sweat however be mindful that too hot of water can induce herxing,

depending on your health condition. Always stand up from your soak slowly, as some of the more

intense detox soak recipes can cause light-headedness.

Parasympathetic Nervous System (PNS) Activities-Rest and Relax State

In the event you feel overly stressed, cannot be still, hyper-focused on worry and excessive thoughts, have blood pressure above 130/85 or a resting heart rate above 70 bpm, your body could be in a Sympathetic Stress State. 


Choose an activity from the list below to shift back into Parasympathetic Rest State. I find the 4-7-8 breathing technique specifically helpful when trying to get to sleep or to retain an enema. You can even choose to do one of your favorites 3 times a day to work at keeping the body in the PNS, rest and relax state. This is exceptionally beneficial for healing.


  • 4-7-8 PNS Shift Breathing: close eyes, breathe in through the nose for 4, hold for 7, breathe out through the mouth for 8. Repeat 4X.
  • Begin/Write in a Gratitude Journal (who and what you are thankful for?)
  • 5-0-7 Relaxation Breathing: close eyes, breathe in through the nose for 5, hold for 0, breathe out through the mouth for 7. Repeat 4X.
  • Don’t strive for perfection- It is not attainable and it’s holding you back. Choose one thing you have been meaning to do to move forward and do it, no matter how small.
  • An example could be, wanting to make your diet healthier, in which case you would
  • choose one item to eliminate or incorporate, make a plan how you will do it & then do it; just one thing, that’s it!
  • Gentle/medium pressure massage
  • Reading
  • Meditation
  • Earthing/Grounding (allowing bare feet/skin to touch the earth or a grounded item)

Infrared Sauna Sessions

Sweating is one of the many pathways we detox, especially mold and mycotoxins. Depending on your individual dosha, sauna sessions can be utilized daily or weekly.


What is good for one may not be ideal for another, so health and body type are factors to consider

when deciding on sauna use frequency. When first beginning, start around 130-140 degrees for 10

minutes, slowly increasing in time with each session. Ensure plenty of potassium chloride water

before, during, and after session, as well as sufficient magnesium glycinate at bedtime. Allow yourself to cool down briefly but always shower immediately after to avoid toxins being reabsorbed into the skin.
